Canceled: Feb 15 Prayer Vigil

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Leanne Bearden and her family. Due to the discovery of her body this Thursday, we will no longer be hosting a prayer vigil for her safe return this Saturday, February 15, 2014, but please, please continue to pray for the family. Nov 2-3 Spiritual Retreat

Come away to a 24-hour guided pilgrimage centered around the cultivation of silence and solitude, fostering meaningful conversation and friendships. We’ve been planning and dreaming about this retreat for over a year now.

Expect a relaxing time of sharing meals, practicing fixed-hour communal prayers, and participating in a handful of curated sessions led by Gordon and Jeanene Atkinson, Paul Soupiset, and Ben Chappell. There will be ample time to wander about in the woods, walk the labyrinth, seek simplicity and beauty, participate in artistic exploration, help prepare meals, and enter the Benedictine practice of “ora et labora”—literally, “prayer and work.” We will create an intimate neo-monastic setting for solitude, reflection, creativity, and communion with God.

Join us November 2-3 at Covenant Baptist Church in San Antonio.

Time: Friday, Nov. 2 from 5:30pm-Sat. Nov. 4 at 4pm (Please also join us for a dutch-treat dinner out on Saturday evening, as well as worship at Covenant on Sunday morning.)

Church Address: 19204 FM 2252, Garden Ridge, Texas

Cost: Free

RSVP: Paul Soupiset, paul@toolbox.net

Meals and bedding provided.
